Who Am I?

Growing up I was fascinated by everything baby.

Watching my mom teach my aunts and family members how to bathe and swaddle my baby cousins taught me the importance of caring for new moms after delivery. I enjoyed our family visits as they became teaching opportunities, in caring for the babies and helping around the home. I was 8 years old when I knew I wanted to work with babies and toddlers.

During college I studied child and language development and later worked in a research lab studying how children learned. I received my BA in Psychology and Linguistics and worked as a lab manager at the Princeton Baby Lab. During my time at the lab I met many new families and networked with postpartum professionals including Newborn Care Specialists and Postpartum Doulas. While I knew working with families during the fourth trimester and caring for newborns was something that always interested me, I did not know there was a name for the profession.

I went into the nanny field soon after and throughout the years learned I have an intuitive sense when it comes to learning infant and toddler cues. I continued my education with conferences and used my trainings to work with parents in creating daily routines, helping during sleep training, and exploring the world of baby wearing. I have worked alongside grandparents as well, educating them on the newest guidelines and infant cues which allowed us to work as a team. My ability to take charge as needed or to take a step back has given peace of mind to parents as they learned to navigate parenthood. I have also traveled with families to allow parents time to enjoy themselves while assuring their baby was well taken care of.
